Hatchery Journal

Hatchery JournalThe day of the cycle, named for the batch.

Hatchery Journal follows chickens, ducks, geese, quails, and turkeys from the minute eggs are set to an estimated finish you can read at a glance.

An iPhone app for incubation records.

On this page: the status card, species presets, a full set, history by day, and eggs set against the last period.

A sample card for one active batch. Other running batches roll into the same summary. When nothing is set, the card stays neutral and shows no countdown.

Log the set while it is in front of you.

Log a set as it happens: batch name, egg count, species, and the exact start time.

Cycle length follows the bird, and the projected hatch stays marked as an estimate.

A single status card holds the active batch, the current day, and time remaining. History keeps every set under its calendar day. Analytics totals the eggs placed in the period you choose and lines them up against the period before.

The projected hatch stays marked as an estimate.

The work sits in five places.

From the egg that was just set, to the count of the period you choose.

01

One status card for the incubator

See the active batch name, egg count, and species, plus the last set time, the estimated finish, and a bar for the current day of the cycle. Several batches roll up into one summary. If nothing is running, the card stays neutral, with no countdown.

02

Species presets that log in one tap

Chicken Eggs, Duck Eggs, and the rest of the flock sit as fixed cards: egg count, species, and cycle length in days. Tap one and the set is written at the current time, with the incubation window calculated on the spot.

03

A full set card when the preset is too coarse

Name the batch, choose chicken, duck, goose, quail, or turkey, then enter egg count, planned days, temperature, humidity, an optional note, and a set time you can change. Save stays quiet until every required value is valid.

04

History grouped by the day you set

Today, Yesterday, or a date such as 12 Jan 2026 heads each section. Cards list batch, set time, species, egg count, temperature, humidity, incubation window, and active or completed. Open any record to edit or delete it.

05

Eggs set, compared with the last period

Switch the last 7 days, 30 days, or this month. The lead figure is total eggs in registered batches, with the change versus the previous span. Smaller cards cover batch count, average eggs, gaps between sets, quiet days, and the largest batch. A daily chart plots eggs placed. Empty periods say so, without a zeroed graph.

Keep the day with the batch that earned it.

Name the set, leave the finish as an estimate, and read the cycle from the card in front of you. History holds the calendar. The period you choose holds the count.
